More than a fraternity.

Sigma Chi At Loyola Chicago

Sigma Chi is one of the oldest and largest fraternities in North America with an active alumni network of over 300,000 brothers. This brotherhood maintains its ideals of friendship, justice, and learning through community service projects, alumni mentorship programs, and leadership workshops. Our Lambda Nu Chapter at Loyola University Chicago maintains these goals since its founding in 2012. We also seek to make our campus a better place through the actions of our brothers in our chapter and community.

Our Mission

As a fraternity, we follow the ideas and rules of our fraternity’s founding in 1885. As outlined in the Jordan Standard, we seek to admit no man we believe is not a man of good character, a student of fair ability, ambitious purposes, a congenial disposition, possessed of good morals, having a high sense of honor, and a deep sense of personal responsibility. We consider these to be the minimum requirements and encourage all members to go above and beyond throughout their lives.

Our Philanthropy

As an organization, Sigma Chi works to support the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Utah. Sigma Chi chapters across the country compete in the Derby Day Challenge to raise money for cancer research. Derby Days is a dance competition between sororities on campus in which the brothers are each part of different teams. Last year, our chapter was able to raise over $27,000 through our Derby Days!

Involved on Campus

In addition to Derby Days, we encourage all brothers to get involved on Campus. Our Chapter likes to support other Greek Organizations on Campus through their philanthropy and other activities.
